Photokina 2014 – Sony FE PZ 28-135 f/4 G OSS RAW samples for download
We got quite high response on our last Sony FE 16-35 f/4 ZA OSS post with RAW files available for download, so I decided to post also few shots with new Sony FE PZ 28-135 f/4 G OSS, lens made mainly for video, but of course, it can be used for still photography too.
This time however, I don’t have images taken from the same place, but rather images at different FL and f-stop settings. All images here were down-sampled for HD resolution to 1920 x 1280 (approx) size, because most of them are taken at high and some at very high ISO. Looking at those images at their full size can give you idea, what quality you can expect in full HD, without further noise reduction and pp.
Feel free to download and examine all files, but please do not share them further without my permission! If you’d like to share downloaded files, please ask me in advance and tell me the purpose. You can of course link to this page without any approval. Thanks.
Bellow each image you will find caption with basic EXIF data and a link for direct download.

OSS seems to work well… following shot is at f/9 and 1/30s at 65mm. Handheld. Focus on the right popcorn box.

Not really sharp shot, but good to see for CA and PF in the extreme conditions (visible in highlights on the Oscar)

hi viktor, thank you for these. since you shot RAW i assume there’s no in-camera correction.
i’m impressed by the lack of notable distortion, especially towards the wide end.
with OSS and 3 on-lens rings, this looks like a wonderful option for on the A7S.
It is a very good lens, and I am sure it will shine on A7s. Best option for Sony E mount at comparable FL zooms.
actually i have a question:
i understand that zooming is by-wire on this lens. is there an option to make it mechanical?
Hi al,
nope, there is no such an option, which is really pity 🙁
